About the role
Join Highway Xpress Transport as a Transport Refrigeration Technician, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems on trucks that carry food and medical supplies. You will work on‑site, handling a variety of technical tasks to ensure reliable cold‑chain operations.
Key responsibilities
- Install and overhaul heating, ventilation, air‑handling, and refrigeration systems in refrigerated trucks.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan installation sequences.
- Measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
- Start up systems, test for leaks, and perform refrigerant charging and regulator calibration.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC components, handling and storing refrigerants safely.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- 1 to less than 2 years of experience with transport refrigeration or HVAC systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours and follow safety procedures.
Required skills
- Installation of refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems.
- Blueprint interpretation.
- Welding and brazing of piping.
- Leak testing and system start‑up.
- Refrigerant handling, recovery, and storage.
- Maintenance and repair of HVAC components.
