About the role
The Transactions & Total Portfolio Risk co‑op will join BCI’s Investment Strategy & Risk department for the Winter 2027 term. You will support the team in building risk factor attribution, designing risk dashboards, enhancing analytics, and delivering ad‑hoc projects across public and private markets.
Key responsibilities
- Perform industry and company research across private equity, infrastructure, private credit and related sectors.
- Provide support to internal teams by responding to risk‑related requests.
- Produce risk assessments for potential new investments.
- Conduct what‑if analysis for new deals, products or instruments.
- Develop and maintain dashboards for asset classes and the BCI total fund.
- Validate and document data procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency with project specifications.
Required profile
- Graduate student in Risk Management, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Business or related field (preferred).
- B+ equivalent cumulative GPA.
- Familiarity with a variety of financial instruments.
- Prior co‑op experience at a bank or investment firm.
- Ability to gather, process and present large data sets concisely.
- Strong work ethic, initiative and professional interpersonal skills.
- Active participation in a student investment club or case competitions.
- Passion for investment management, high ethical standards and eagerness to learn.
