Training Coordinator – Animal Care Services

About the role

The Training Coordinator will develop, schedule, and deliver animal care and use training for researchers and Animal Care Services staff at UBC. Working closely with the Training Manager and Veterinary Head of Training, the role ensures compliance with CCAC and university regulations while supporting strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and conduct didactic and hands‑on training programs in laboratory animal science.
• Manage content delivery through the Learning Management System for blended learning.
• Coordinate campus‑wide courses, workshops, and special technical training for the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.
• Ensure all training meets CCAC guidelines, institutional SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Training Manager, Veterinary Head of Training, and external biotechnology partners.
• Report progress and outcomes to the Training Manager.

Required profile

• Experience developing and delivering training programs in animal care or related scientific fields.
• Familiarity with CCAC guidelines and university research protocols.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate multi‑site programs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with researchers, staff, and external partners.

Required skills

• Learning Management System (LMS) administration
