Third Engineer – Rotational Vessel Position

About the role

The Third Engineer will support the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on a floatel vessel operating out of Squamish, BC. Reporting to the Second Engineer, this role is essential for safe and efficient vessel performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance, inspections, lubrication, filter changes, and system checks on all machinery.
• Monitor and operate propulsion, power generation, HVAC, plumbing, and auxiliary systems, reporting any abnormalities.
• Support safety and compliance by following protocols, participating in drills, and conducting regular equipment inspections.
• Help manage spare‑part inventory, track stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies.
• Collaborate with the engineering team and other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• Technical education and certifications in marine engineering.
• 2‑3 years experience as a third engineer or similar role on passenger vessels.
• STCW certifications: III/1, VI/1, VI/2, VI/3, VI/4, VI/6, crisis management, crowd management, and Ro/Ro passenger ship training.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing and demonstrate strong English communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
