About the role
We are seeking a Thermodynamics Engineer on a 6‑12 month contract to support the design and optimisation of aircraft thermal systems. The role involves advanced CFD and heat‑transfer analysis, test‑plan preparation, and documentation of both ground and flight test results.
Key responsibilities
- Perform complex coupled fluid‑heat transfer analyses using CFD tools.
- Solve pipe‑network flow, heat‑transfer, and thermodynamics challenges.
- Interpret analysis results in the context of aircraft design and right‑sizing.
- Prepare and execute test plans for ground and flight testing.
- Document analysis outcomes, test results, and update engineering practice documents.
Required profile
- Master’s (or Bachelor’s) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with focus on fluid mechanics, heat transfer, or CFD.
- 5‑8 years of experience in internal‑flow CFD analysis.
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Self‑motivated, innovative team player with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to travel for short‑term assignments.
Required skills
- Star‑CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, SpaceClaim, SimCenter3D.
- CFD, heat‑transfer, fluid‑mechanics analysis.
- Programming languages: Fortran, Visual Basic, C++, C#, Python.
- Experience with HPC environments and Unix operating systems.
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
