Term Instructors – Health Care Assistant Clinicals (Terrace, BC)

About the role

NVIT is seeking qualified term instructors to deliver the Health Care Assistant clinical components in Terrace, BC. The position is sessional, covering multiple short‑duration courses during the fall 2026 term.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and supervise the Clinical I (HTCA 169), Clinical II (HTCA 179), and Community Practicum (HTCA 159) courses.
• Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and clinical evaluation tools aligned with program standards.
• Provide mentorship and feedback to Indigenous adult learners in classroom and practicum settings.
• Collaborate with faculty and community partners to ensure high‑quality clinical experiences.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.
• Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• 3‑5 years recent nursing experience, including at least 2 years in continuing‑care or community‑based settings.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Indigenous adult learners.
• BC Provincial Instructor’s Diploma or willingness to complete the PID/NAID program.
• Knowledge of geriatric nursing or gerontology is an asset.
