About the role
McGill University’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position specializing in Number Theory, with a target start date of 1 August 2027. The role is intended for scholars whose research complements the department’s strengths in arithmetic geometry and automorphic representations.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct high‑quality research in Number Theory or closely related fields such as Algebraic Geometry and Representation Theory.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics.
- Supervise graduate students and post‑doctoral researchers.
- Participate in departmental, university, and professional service activities.
Required profile
- Doctoral degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline by the appointment date.
- Demonstrated record of, or strong potential for, research excellence, effective teaching, and mentorship.
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- Proficiency in English for both verbal and written communication.
Required skills
- Expertise in Number Theory, arithmetic geometry, or automorphic representations.
