Temporary Full-Time Educational Assistant (K-6)

About the role

The Palliser School Division is seeking a Temporary Full‑Time Educational Assistant for Calgary Christian Elementary School. This 12‑month assignment (August 21, 2026 – June 30, 2027) supports two students with complex needs in a K‑6 classroom, helping them access the curriculum and technology.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct educational instruction and assist students with technology use.
• Contribute input to the students’ Individual Program Plans (IPP) and help update them.
• Participate in learning‑team meetings with parents/guardians and staff to review goals.
• Collect and record data to monitor student progress and inform IPP revisions.
• Maintain professional relationships within the learning team and offer constructive suggestions.

Required profile

• Completed recognized post‑secondary or vocational certificate in child care, development, or behaviour management.
• Successful practicum experience working with students who have special needs.
• Experience in an inclusive learning environment is an asset.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (Child CPR preferred).

• Ability to deliver educational instruction and support technology use.
• Data collection and documentation skills.
• Effective teamwork and communication with students, families, and staff.
