Technical Specialist & Equipment Manager for University Hockey

About the role

The Technical Specialist – Equipment Manager will support the Martlet Hockey program by ensuring all equipment, uniforms and related assets are ready, safe and well‑maintained for practices, games and team activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, organize and distribute team equipment for practices, competitions and events.
• Maintain uniforms, apparel and gear in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Coordinate equipment set‑up and takedown before and after practices and games.
• Monitor inventory levels, track usage and identify equipment needs for student‑athletes.
• Keep accurate records of equipment usage, repairs, replacements and inventory audits.
• Analyse equipment data, report trends and provide recommendations to the Head Coach.
• Assist coaching staff with operational aspects of practice and game plans.
• Perform weekly administrative duties and support special projects as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least two years of related equipment or inventory management experience.
• Demonstrated experience in hockey equipment management, preferably at elite, university or junior levels.
• Strong organizational, communication and time‑management abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, dependable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Successful completion of Safe Sport, CCES anti‑doping training and a criminal background check.

• Hourly wage of $17.17 CAD, covered by the AMUSE collective agreement.
