Technical Recruiter (Contract, Part-Time to Full-Time)

About the role

Bree, a consumer finance platform serving over half of Canadians living paycheck to paycheck, is looking for a tenacious Technical Recruiter to help fuel its next phase of growth. As an early member of the talent team, you will build the engineering and product teams from the ground up, set world-class recruiting standards and act as a brand ambassador for the company.

Key responsibilities

• Full-cycle recruiting: own the entire hiring process for technical roles, from kickoff with hiring managers to offer negotiation and closing.
• Strategic sourcing: hunt for top-tier passive talent for hard-to-fill engineering and product roles using LinkedIn Recruiter and creative outbound strategies.
• Process engineering: build and drive adoption of standardized, scalable hiring workflows.
• Candidate experience: be the primary point of contact for candidates, following through diligently and building long-term relationships.
• Data and strategy: give leadership insights on market trends, pipeline health and long-term talent acquisition strategy.
• Employer branding: contribute to Bree's external employment brand as a top destination for technical talent in Canada.

Required profile

• 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.
• Proven track record of finding and engaging passive candidates who are not actively looking.
• Self-starter who can navigate ambiguity and build processes from scratch.
• Ability to speak the language of engineers and product managers to screen for skill and culture fit.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
