Technical Architect – Restaurants

About the role

The Technical Architect will translate design intent into detailed construction documents for restaurant projects, ensuring technical accuracy, code compliance, and constructability. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that meet budget, schedule, and aesthetic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and edit technical designs and architectural drawings to meet quality, timeline, and budget requirements.
• Conduct programming, code research, material and building systems research, and calculate program and building areas.
• Evaluate site conditions, perform site surveys, and review shop drawings and project products.
• Prepare permit response letters, coordinate revisions with engineers and consultants, and obtain necessary permits.
• Coordinate with contractors, sub‑consultants, and building authorities to resolve constructability issues and address owner concerns.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in architectural project work, preferably with restaurant projects.
• Completed post‑secondary education in architecture or a related field.
• Registration with a professional architectural association is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD (or comparable architectural design software).
• Strong knowledge of MEP and structural building systems and applicable building codes.
• Experience across all phases of the project cycle, from concept through construction documentation.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range of $80,000 – $115,000 per year.
