Technical Analyst for Sustainable Bio-based Materials

About the role
The UBC BioProducts Institute is seeking a Technical Analyst to support the development of sustainable, plant‑derived materials. This paid internship will be based at the UBC Vancouver campus with the possibility of hybrid remote work.
Key responsibilities
- Support the creation of Techno‑Economic Analyses (TEA) including process flow diagrams, equipment sizing, costing and sensitivity studies.
- Assist in defining project scopes, schedules and objectives.
- Conduct high‑level technical reviews and contribute to process optimisation.
- Characterise material samples using analytical methods and help fine‑tune manufacturing processes.
Required profile
- Strong interest in sustainable technologies and bio‑based materials.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, scientists and business professionals.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a multidisciplinary research environment.
