Tech Ed Trades Teacher – Automotive, Metalwork & Woodwork (1.0 FTE)

About the role

Guildford Park Secondary School is seeking a full‑time (1.0 FTE) Technical Education Trades Teacher to deliver Automotive (grades 10‑12), Metalwork (grades 9‑12) and Woodwork (grades 9‑12) courses. The successful candidate will join a diverse, inclusive community of roughly 1,400 students and support the school’s strong focus on equity, mental‑health literacy, and career pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess curriculum for Automotive, Metalwork and Woodwork classes.
• Maintain a safe workshop environment and enforce safety protocols.
• Collaborate with counselling staff, inclusive‑education workers and apprenticeship programs.
• Contribute to school‑wide SEL and community partnership initiatives.
• Participate in professional development and school committees.

Required profile

• Valid teaching certification in Technical Education.
• Experience teaching Automotive, Metalwork and/or Woodwork to secondary‑school students.
• Commitment to inclusive, equity‑focused education.
• Ability to work effectively with a multicultural student body.

Required skills

• Automotive repair and diagnostics.
• Metalworking techniques and equipment operation.
• Woodworking techniques and power‑tool usage.
• Workshop safety procedures and compliance.
