Tech Ed Teacher – Automotive (Grades 9‑12) & Woodwork (Grade 8)

About the role

The Surrey School District is seeking a dedicated full‑time Technical Education teacher to deliver Automotive courses for grades 9‑12 and Woodwork for grade 8 at Fleetwood Park Secondary. The position supports a diverse, student‑centred learning environment and contributes to the school’s extensive program offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess curriculum for Automotive (grades 9‑12) and Woodwork (grade 8).
• Maintain safe, well‑equipped workshop spaces in compliance with school policies.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
• Participate in student leadership, mentorship, and extracurricular activities.
• Engage with parents and community partners to promote trade pathways.

Required profile

• Valid teaching certification for secondary technical education in British Columbia.
• Experience teaching automotive technology and/or woodworking at the secondary level.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Ability to work with a diverse student body of approximately 1,750 learners.
