Team Lead – Walmart Grand Opening Activation

About the role

We are looking for an energetic, outgoing, and highly organized Team Lead/Brand Ambassador to manage a Walmart Grand Opening activation in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The four‑day event (Oct 22‑25, 2026) will feature interactive games, sampling, photo opportunities, trick‑or‑treat stations, and other family‑friendly activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the Brand Ambassador team, ensuring all members are engaged, professional, and positioned effectively.
• Serve as the primary on‑site point of contact, communicating updates, instructions, and client requirements.
• Conduct team check‑ins, assign roles and station responsibilities, and manage staff breaks and rotations.
• Engage shoppers, children, and families in a friendly, energetic manner across indoor and outdoor stations.
• Oversee activations such as Plinko, sampling, trick‑or‑treat stations, photo‑op wall, face painting, balloon artist, and sparkling water truck.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe, and well‑stocked activation areas throughout the event.
• Assist with event setup and teardown, handling equipment and supplies according to brand and safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Energetic, outgoing, and confident in approaching shoppers, children, and families.
• Previous experience leading a promotional or event team is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, and customer‑service skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Food Handler Certification.
• Availability for all four activation dates and mandatory virtual training on Oct 15.
