About the role
This part‑time position supports the West Moberly First Nations (WMFN) curriculum development team in creating an introductory Dunne‑Za language curriculum for adult learners. The role runs from February to August 2026 and may transition to a full teaching assignment in September.
Key responsibilities
- Provide linguistic support and translate English materials into Dunne‑Za.
- Assist the team in selecting vocabulary, grammar points, exercises, activities, tests and evaluations.
- Work two hours each day (approximately 20 hours per week) with a set schedule for the first month, then flexible thereafter.
- Ensure curriculum content is effective, culturally sensitive, and aligned with guidance from Chief and Council, the Cultural Committee, and community Elders.
Required profile
- Experience or strong interest in indigenous language revitalization.
- Ability to collaborate with community stakeholders and respect cultural protocols.
- Commitment to the February‑August 2026 timeline.
