Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Manager to lead Canadian tax compliance, reporting and planning for a leading renewable energy organization. The role will focus on corporate tax, green tax incentives and support the development of clean energy projects across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare schedules, workpapers and corporate tax returns for Canadian tax compliance, including estimated payments and thin‑capitalisation modelling.
• Analyze and administer Canadian Green Tax Incentives and renewable‑energy tax credits.
• Partner with development teams to evaluate tax incentives for new renewable projects.
• Gather financial data, generate SAP reports and support VAT, tax provisions and other filings.
• Respond to inquiries from Canadian tax authorities, manage audits and liaise with government agencies.
• Research technical tax issues and contribute to special tax projects.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Legal, IT and Project Finance functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years of Canadian corporate tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax compliance, reporting and thin‑capitalisation rules.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP.
• Experience using Tableau.
• Familiarity with Avalara tax software.
