About the role
Our client, a leading Canadian marine transportation and shipbuilding organization, is looking for a Tax Manager to oversee all tax-related activities. The role involves ensuring compliance, supporting tax credit claims, and providing strategic tax planning for the company and its parent organization.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze corporate and indirect tax reports, including annual, monthly, and periodic filings.
- Assist with the annual Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credit claim.
- Prepare and review detailed tax provision working papers.
- Maintain effective tax systems, internal controls, and coordinate tax accounting within the financial reporting team.
- Develop and update tax compliance policies and procedures for federal, provincial, and foreign tax authorities.
- Build accurate tax forecasting models to support business decisions.
- Contribute to tax planning initiatives for the company and its parent organization.
Required profile
- CPA designation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax.
- Public practice exposure, preferably within a Big 8 firm.
- Cross‑border tax proficiency.
- Experience with tax provisions.
- SR&ED experience is an asset.
