About the role
The University is seeking a Systems Administrator to join the Enterprise Applications team. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services and working with the Director of Enterprise Application and Digital Transformation, the incumbent will ensure the reliable operation of core IT infrastructure that supports university‑wide applications and services.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, operate and maintain servers, operating systems, authentication services, storage, backup solutions and network connectivity across a multi‑platform environment.
- Provide day‑to‑day support for university‑wide applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Administer ancillary enterprise systems such as the campus card and access‑management platform, guaranteeing secure integrations and reliable service.
- Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot incidents, apply patches, and implement upgrades.
- Document system configurations, procedures and service level agreements.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary education in information technology, computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience in systems administration within an enterprise setting.
- Strong understanding of server operating systems, authentication mechanisms, storage technologies, backup processes and networking concepts.
- Ability to work under the guidance of senior IT leadership and follow established policies.
