Support Worker – Social Services

About the role

The Support Worker will join a community agency in Winnipeg, providing direct assistance to adults with intellectual, learning, or physical disabilities. You will work in an urban setting, delivering life‑skills workshops, mentoring, and helping clients navigate daily activities and appointments.

Key responsibilities

• Implement life‑skills workshops and assess each client’s strengths and development needs.
• Prepare meals, resolve conflicts, and provide personal care for clients with special needs.
• Liaise with other social‑service agencies and health‑care providers to coordinate support.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, and community events.
• Offer one‑on‑one mentoring and support to promote independence.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school diploma).
• 1–2 years of experience in community or disability services.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Clear criminal, child‑abuse, adult‑abuse, and driver‑record checks.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently under pressure.
