Support Services Attendant – Full Time

About the role

One full‑time Support Services Attendant position is available in the Support Services Department of Groves Memorial Community Hospital. The role ensures a clean, safe environment, handles food preparation and delivery, and assists with patient transfers and supply flow.

Key responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning, disinfection, waste collection, linen handling and food service.
• Transfer patients safely within the facility using appropriate equipment.
• Receive, validate and distribute hospital deliveries, entering data into the electronic supply chain system.
• Maintain inventory levels, rotate stock, and manage shortages in accordance with BPS regulations.
• Arrange hospital shipments and maintain supply‑chain documentation.
• Adhere to Ministry of Environment, PIDAC, Food and Drug Act and Public Health Ontario standards.

Required profile

• Secondary School Diploma.
• Experience in healthcare environmental cleaning or food services.
• Certificates preferred: Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment, Safe Food Handling, Food Service Worker, CPR, WHMIS.
• MSD prevention Safe Client and Materials Handling training, maintained annually.
• Dependable record, strong communication and customer service skills.
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check and pre‑employment health assessment required.

Required skills

• Strong computer proficiency.
• Ability to operate hydraulic lift/scissor dock and related equipment.
• WHMIS training and safe client/material handling.
• Safe food handling practices.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, kneel and push carts as required.
