Supply Chain Professional (Hybrid, 12‑Month Contract)

About the role

MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for a Supply Chain Professional to support one of British Columbia's largest utility providers. This 12‑month contract role is hybrid, based in Burnaby, and focuses on strategic sourcing, category management, and competitive procurement within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities from project intake through contract award and purchase order execution.
• Develop sourcing and category‑management strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Review purchase requisitions and determine the most appropriate sourcing approach.
• Conduct supplier market analysis, prepare RFQs, and manage competitive procurement events.
• Coordinate bidder communications, lead commercial bid evaluations, and support technical evaluation teams.
• Prepare award recommendations, contract documentation, and facilitate purchase order creation.
• Build strong relationships with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders while identifying and mitigating sourcing risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management.
• Strong understanding of strategic sourcing and category‑management principles.
• Experience leading competitive procurement processes and supplier evaluations.
• Advanced analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• SAP (purchase requisition and purchase order processing)
• Microsoft Excel (advanced proficiency)
