Substation Construction Supervisor / Foreman

About the role

Valard Construction is seeking a Substation Construction Supervisor/Foreman to lead on‑site crews in the Maritimes, based out of Moncton, NB. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will oversee daily construction activities, ensure safety compliance, and act as the primary liaison for field staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site activities and crews of 5‑20 personnel.
• Ensure adherence to Valard’s safety policies and procedures.
• Complete daily paperwork such as timesheets and field reports.
• Conduct equipment reviews, scheduling, and maintenance.
• Coach and mentor employees on technical and safety standards.
• Maintain positive client relations and a collaborative work atmosphere.
• Address crew issues and coordinate with the Site Supervisor.
• Work with the on‑site Safety Advisor to resolve safety concerns.
• Manage material deliveries, inventory, and risk identification.
• Enforce the Valard Quality Management Plan and ensure efficient, high‑quality work.

Required profile

• Journeyman designation in Power System Electrician, Construction Electrician, or PowerLine Technician.
• Minimum 5 years of construction industry experience.
• Proven experience in medium to high‑voltage substation construction.
• Knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, project scheduling, cost and quality control.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
