Electrical Project Manager – Commercial Electrical

About the role

Black & McDonald is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead commercial electrical projects from inception through completion. The role requires strong technical knowledge, budgetary control and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocation and risk assessments.
• Create and manage project budgets, track expenses and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Lead cross‑functional teams of engineers, technicians and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with CSA Canadian Electrical Code, safety regulations and quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders and team members.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in Electrical Technology or equivalent combination of education, trade and project‑management experience.
• PMP certification or related project‑management diploma.
• Minimum five years of experience in the electrical ICI sector, preferably as a Red Seal Electrician with supervisory responsibilities.
• Ability to obtain a Level II Secret Clearance and travel within New Brunswick.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JDE and JD Edwards (or other Oracle‑based ERP systems).
• Experience using Procore construction software.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office – Word, Excel and Project.
• Strong knowledge of CSA Canadian Electrical Code and other electrical regulations.

What we offer

• Salary range $70,000‑$85,000 CAD per year, based on qualifications and experience.
