Subcontracts Coordinator

About the role

The Subcontracts Coordinator will oversee all contractual aspects of rail construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract terms, legislation, and project requirements. Working closely with the Subcontracts Manager and cross‑functional teams, the coordinator mitigates risk, manages claims, and supports successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Administer subcontracts, supplier and consultant agreements in line with project specifications.
• Interpret contract documents and guide project teams on compliance with technical specifications, schedules, and legal requirements.
• Manage change orders, variations, and contract modifications, including pricing and schedule impacts.
• Support preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of claims, disputes, and time extensions.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and monitor contractor performance against KPIs.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, scheduling, cost control, and procurement teams.
• Participate in project meetings, providing contractual input on key decisions.
• Maintain accurate contract files, correspondence, and registers for changes, claims, RFIs, and notices.

Required profile

• Experience in contract administration within large infrastructure or rail projects.
• Strong understanding of contractual law, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
