About the role
The Municipality of Chatham‑Kent is seeking a Student Inclusion Camp Leader to support campers of all abilities during its summer program. This seasonal role runs from late June to early September 2026 and offers up to 40 hours per week on‑site at the Cultural Centre.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑on‑one or two‑on‑one assistance to campers with inclusion needs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Adapt daily schedules and program plans to accommodate individual requirements.
- Monitor and redirect inappropriate behaviours, maintaining a positive camp environment.
- Communicate daily with staff to coordinate inclusion strategies.
- Report concerns to the supervisor and assist with preliminary problem‑solving.
- Enforce all safety guidelines, policies, and administrative rules.
- Maintain confidentiality when interacting with parents, guardians, staff, and children.
- Handle clean‑up and proper storage of camp equipment.
Required profile
- Enrolled full‑time in a post‑secondary program for the 2025/2026 winter term or returning full‑time for the 2026 fall term.
- Aged 15‑30 at the start of employment.
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected refugee with a valid SIN.
- Eligible for Canada Summer Jobs funding.
