About the role
The University of British Columbia’s VP Finance & Operations portfolio is seeking a motivated student to join the Communications team as a Communications Coordinator. Working under the Manager, Communications and alongside a Communications Strategist, you will help create and distribute clear, engaging content for internal and campus‑wide audiences.
Key responsibilities
- Design and update print and digital assets such as posters, reports, presentations, digital signage, and promotional graphics following UBC visual standards.
- Create and publish content for websites, digital signage, photography, video clips, and news posts aligned with communication campaigns.
- Support internal stakeholders by providing guidelines, templates, and graphic standards, and by curating existing content from partner channels.
- Coordinate with printers, vendors, and campus distribution services for both physical and digital materials.
- Assist with internal newsletters, including writing, content solicitation, and layout.
- Develop analytical report templates and produce reports to aid decision‑making.
- Help plan and execute events, including promotional material production, logistics, vendor management, and on‑site setup.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a post‑secondary program with an interest in communications, media, journalism, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with diverse audiences.
- Creative mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to take initiative.
- Comfortable interacting professionally with internal teams and external partners.
