About the role
The Municipality of Chatham‑Kent is seeking a Student Camp Team Leader to design, deliver, and evaluate a high‑quality summer arts and culture camp for children. This seasonal position runs from late June to early September 2026 and is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, implement and assess the summer camp program, ensuring activities are age‑appropriate and engaging.
- Lead and supervise a team of camp leaders, coordinating daily activities such as active games, arts & crafts, drama, fitness breaks, and water play.
- Oversee lunch supervision, participant behaviour management, and safety protocols.
- Communicate with parents as needed and act as a resource for staff development.
- Handle all administrative duties for the camp site, both indoors and outdoors.
Required profile
- Full‑time student enrolled for the 2025/2026 winter term or returning for the 2026 fall term.
- Age between 15 and 30 at the start of employment.
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected refugee with a valid SIN and legal right to work in Canada.
- Preference for students in a recreation, child‑youth, or related post‑secondary program with at least one year of program‑planning experience.
