Student Assistant – Energy & Environment

About the role

The Town of Caledon is seeking a motivated student to support its Energy & Environment Division over the summer. This onsite role offers hands‑on experience in sustainability, climate‑change research and municipal energy programs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with research on climate change, renewable energy, electric vehicles and best‑practice sustainability initiatives.
• Collect, organize and analyse environmental, energy and greenhouse‑gas emissions data.
• Maintain records, spreadsheets and databases that track program performance.
• Prepare reports, presentations, briefing materials and Council documentation.
• Support public‑education activities, community events and communication materials.

Required profile

• Currently entering Grade 12 (or equivalent) with successful completion of Grade 11.
• Strong organizational abilities and genuine interest in sustainability, climate change or energy management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work professionally in a confidential environment and interact effectively with staff and the public.
• Own reliable transportation for travel to Town Hall and occasional site visits.
