Steel Stud Framer – Carpentry Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Steel Stud Framer to join our carpentry team in Kitchener. The role involves preparing layouts, cutting and assembling steel and wood components, and installing framing systems on a variety of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare layout plans that comply with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape and assemble wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel studs.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and related hardware.
• Maintain, repair and renovate structures in residential, commercial and institutional settings.
• Ensure all work meets safety standards and quality specifications.

Required profile

• Bondable and able to work at heights, in confined spaces and noisy, dusty environments.
• Physically capable of bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads and meeting tight deadlines.
• Use personal protective equipment such as steel‑toed boots and hard hat.

Required skills

• Proficiency with measuring tools and layout preparation.
• Ability to cut and shape wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Experience installing windows, doors, stairs and related hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
