Steel Stud Framer – Carpentry

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Steel Stud Framer to join our carpentry team in Surrey. The role involves constructing walls, roofs and other structural elements using steel studs and wood substitutes, following blueprints and building codes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare labour and material cost estimates and tender quotations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, steel and related materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate on‑site work, survey building locations and levels.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• 1–2 years experience in steel stud framing or similar carpentry work.
• Criminal record check.
• Physical ability to bend, crouch, kneel, lift heavy loads and work in demanding conditions.
• Accurate, client‑focused, reliable team player with good oral communication.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Use of measuring tools.

• Cutting and shaping wood and lightweight steel.
