Steel Stud Framer – Carpentry

About the role

GRD Construction Ltd is seeking a skilled Steel Stud Framer to join its carpentry team in Surrey, BC. The successful candidate will work on a variety of construction projects, preparing layouts, cutting and assembling structural components, and installing finishes in accordance with building codes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare layouts that comply with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residential and commercial structures across various sites.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2 to less than 3 years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to work at various locations and relocate if needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with measuring tools for layout preparation.
• Ability to cut, shape, assemble and join wood, steel and composite materials.
• Experience installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
