Steel Erector – Journeyman

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Steel Erector – Journeyman to assemble and erect steel structures based on detailed plans and specifications. The role involves installing beams, columns, trusses and other structural elements on a variety of projects across Quebec, with a strong focus on quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and erect steel structures according to drawings and specifications.
• Install beams, columns, trusses and related components.
• Perform adjustments, alignment, bolting and welding as required.
• Operate lifting equipment and elevated platforms or nacelles.
• Collaborate with other trades and ensure site safety.
• Work on diverse environments, including projects in northern Quebec.

Required profile

• Valid CCQ card for steel erector journeyman.
• CWB SMAW (electrode) welding certification.
• Operator card for elevated platforms/nacelles.
• Proven experience in steel structure erection.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Good physical condition and comfort working at height.
• Autonomous, meticulous and quality‑focused.
• Team‑oriented with a professional attitude.
