Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. The role involves on‑the‑job training, 12‑hour shifts on a 14‑days‑on/7‑days‑off rotation, and travel to remote job sites where you will help manage and recycle drilling fluids safely.

Key responsibilities

• Rig up and rig down solids control equipment such as shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying units and pumps.
• Perform fluid analysis (weight, funnel viscosity, retort) and monitor drilling fluid properties.
• Execute solids control services including air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, fluid transfers and cuttings drying.
• Carry out routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery and pressure‑washing tools while maintaining a clean work environment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete PJRA/JSA, inspection and observation reports.
• Adhere to all PPE and safety protocols on site.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour swing rotations and travel to remote locations across Canada.
• Ability to learn and follow technical procedures under supervision.
• Basic understanding of environmental services and electrical principles is a plus.
• Commitment to safety‑sensitive work environments.
