Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. You will receive on‑the‑job training on specialized solids control equipment and work 12‑hour rotational shifts (14 days on, 7 days off) in remote locations. Safety is a core focus of this position.

Key responsibilities

• Work 14‑day on / 7‑day off rotational schedule, including overtime as needed.
• Travel domestically to remote job sites throughout Canada.
• Rig up and rig down a variety of solids control equipment such as shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying units and pumps.
• Perform drilling fluid analysis (weight, funnel viscosity, retort analysis) and maintain fluid properties.
• Execute solids control services including air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, fluid transfers, low‑gravity solids removal, and cuttings drying.
• Carry out routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery safely under supervision.
• Maintain a clean work environment using pressure‑washing equipment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete PJRA/JSA, inspection and observation reports.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotational shifts and travel to remote locations.
• Ability to learn rigging, equipment operation, fluid analysis and basic electrical principles.
• Commitment to safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
• Basic knowledge of environmental services and drilling fluid properties is a plus.
