Software Engineer – Scheduled Rides

About the role

Lyft is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join the Scheduled Rides team. You will build and enhance core services that power premium, planned‑rides experiences for riders and drivers, collaborating closely with mobile, product, design, and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define roadmap and architecture for new features based on technology needs.
• Write well‑crafted, well‑tested, maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and share knowledge.
• Deliver brown‑bag sessions, tech talks, and promote engineering best practices.
• Lead large projects from concept through successful execution.
• Unblock and support internal partners to achieve results.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong background in object‑oriented programming.
• Experience building distributed systems.
• Hands‑on work with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Ability to produce clear design documentation.
