Software Engineer II – IBM ODM

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Software Engineer II with expertise in IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) to join its Business Rules Engineering & Strategy team. The role focuses on building robust rule‑based solutions that drive fraud prediction, transaction‑level decisions, and real‑time alerts across the payments ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for high‑volume, mission‑critical fraud prediction applications.
• Analyze customer requests for fraud rule changes and advise on solution effectiveness.
• Design and implement effective rule strategies to meet client needs.
• Develop and deploy rule changes in an agile environment.
• Validate rule modifications against transaction data and enforce quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager.
• Proven ability to deliver technical solutions aligned with business and product strategies.
• Experience in financial services or payments is a plus.
• Background in developing custom software applications across diverse technologies and frameworks.
