Software Engineer – Developer Efficiency Platform

About the role

Apple’s Developer Efficiency Platform team is looking for a Software Engineer to design and operate high‑performance backend systems that accelerate the way hundreds of Apple engineers build, test, and ship services. You will help embed modern AI capabilities into the platform, creating smarter, more automated developer workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable backend services and APIs in Java and Python that support developer efficiency workflows.
• Collaborate with project managers and cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into reliable production solutions.
• Develop and maintain large‑scale systems enabling rapid service development, testing, and deployment.
• Integrate AI‑driven tools to automate tasks, provide intelligent insights, and enhance the developer experience.
• Build and operate containerised services using Kubernetes for reliable deployment and orchestration.
• Continuously evolve platform architecture for reliability, maintainability, and performance at scale.
• Write clean, well‑tested code and participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and production troubleshooting.
