Software Developer – Early Career

About the role

We are looking for creative, highly motivated engineers to join GM’s Vehicle Software and Electronics Engineering group. As a Software Developer you will work on cutting‑edge Software‑Defined Vehicle and Infotainment solutions that shape the future of automotive experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality Infotainment software for Software‑Defined Vehicle applications and services.
• Design, develop, and implement embedded software using Android, QNX and Linux frameworks.
• Apply best software design principles, design patterns and abstractions.
• Test and demonstrate functionality at controller, system and vehicle levels using automated test tools.
• Document requirements, link them to test cases, and ensure traceability.
• Participate in architecture, design, code and test‑case reviews.
• Contribute as an inclusive Agile Scrum team member and share ideas in planning events.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related engineering field.
• Expected graduation between December 2025 and August 2026.
• Eligible to work in Canada without immigration sponsorship.

Required skills

• Embedded software development on Android, QNX and Linux platforms.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and best practices.
• Experience with automated testing tools in build environments, benches and vehicles.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum development processes.
