IT Lead – Technology Operations

About the role

We are looking for an IT Lead to own the technology environment across our Demetres restaurants, Scooped by Demetres ice‑cream shops, central production facility and corporate head office. This high‑ownership, hands‑on role requires a technical generalist who can troubleshoot POS terminals, provision new accounts, configure network equipment and build small automations to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑user support for Windows and macOS computers, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and core SaaS platforms.
• Maintain and support the Oracle Simphony POS infrastructure, including backend servers and front‑of‑house terminals.
• Manage network equipment across all sites – patch panels, switches, Meraki wireless access points, VLANs and site‑to‑site VPNs.
• Respond to store issues during operating hours, often remotely via Slack or video calls.
• Develop internal tools and automations using Python, Google Apps Script or SQL to reduce manual work.
• Create and maintain SOPs, documentation and training resources.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience in a generalist IT role.
• Strong networking fundamentals – LAN, wireless, VLANs, firewalls and cabling.
• Basic development experience with Python, Google Apps Script, APIs or SQL.
• Reliable transportation for regular travel to locations across the GTA.
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when critical issues arise.
