Software and AI Research Coordinator

About the role

The School of Biomedical Engineering at UBC is seeking a motivated Software and AI Research Coordinator to support its computational cancer biology and pathology AI team. The role focuses on developing and applying machine‑learning methods to medical imaging data, particularly histopathology slides.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews on histopathology image analysis and machine‑learning applications.
• Prototype and develop machine‑learning algorithms for medical‑imaging tasks.
• Analyze cancer tissue images using newly developed models.
• Assist the principal investigator with document review and preparation of funding applications.
• Prepare reports and present findings to senior staff.

Required profile

• Graduate‑level education or equivalent experience in computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in applying AI to medical imaging.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
