SMT Operator (Afternoon Shift)

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced SMT Operator to join the production team on the afternoon shift. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining surface‑mount technology equipment to produce high‑quality electronic assemblies in an ESD‑controlled environment.

Key responsibilities

• Handle products safely in an ESD‑controlled electronics environment.
• Read and follow operational instructions and work orders accurately.
• Set up and operate SMT production equipment efficiently.
• Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance on SMT machines.
• Conduct visual inspections of SMT PCBAs for quality assurance.
• Rework SMT boards with defects identified after oven inspection.
• Document routines, procedures and report issues to the Lead Hand.
• Assist other SMT operators and complete assigned tasks as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma; technical diploma preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience as an SMT operator.
• Ability to read and understand Bills of Material and manufacturing process instructions.
• Knowledge of SMT component packages, industry markings, and IPC‑610 standards.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
