Site Trainer – Mining Operations

About the role

North American Construction Group is looking for a Site Trainer to support the Syncrude Aurora mine. The role focuses on delivering practical and classroom training, mentoring, and competency evaluations to ensure operational safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all personnel complete required training, including CBLs, client training, SOP reviews and manufacturer‑specific programs.
• Conduct equipment training, competency evaluations and production training as needed.
• Assist maintenance teams with equipment training and follow up on operator abuse issues such as VIMS and telematics.
• Maintain onboarding logs, update crew designations weekly, and submit timely weekly reports.
• Utilize the LMS for theory delivery, record keeping and training reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years operating experience in a mining environment.
• At least 1 year operating large and small excavators, crawler tractors, motor graders and haul trucks.
• Experience in crew coaching, lead‑hand or supervisory roles.
• Post‑secondary education and/or Registered Professional Trainer designation considered assets.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and OSSA, BSO or CSO certification.
