Sign Maker – Neon Sign Production

About the role

NEON EMPIRE is seeking an experienced Sign Maker to produce high‑quality neon signs in its Gatineau workshop. The role involves operating CNC and manual equipment, reading blueprints, and ensuring each sign meets strict safety and aesthetic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC and other cutting machines, change attachments, and monitor operation.
• Load, feed, and position materials; cut, shape, sand, trim, and grind components.
• Assemble parts using screws, clips, glue, welding or bonding techniques.
• Inspect finished items for defects, mark needed repairs, and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schemas, and drawings.
• Enter CNC toolpath codes and delegate administrative tasks to office support staff.

Required profile

• Excellent oral communication, flexibility, organization, reliability and teamwork.
• Ability to work in noisy, dusty, hot environments, at heights and with heavy loads.
• Physically demanding work requiring manual dexterity, attention to detail and hand‑eye coordination.

Required skills

• AutoCAD
• Microsoft Excel, Office and Word
• Operation of CNC machines and programming NC/CNC systems
• Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino)
• Use of cutting and slicing machines, hand tools
