Sidewalk Concrete Finisher

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Sidewalk Concrete Finisher to join our construction team in Coquitlam. The role involves working on industrial projects such as roads, bridges, sidewalks and curbs, ensuring concrete surfaces are placed, finished and cured to specification.

Key responsibilities

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement before concrete placement.
• Directly place concrete into forms or onto surfaces, fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and level the top surface according to grade and depth specifications.
• Apply desired finishes using hand and power tools, install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures.
• Apply hardening and sealing components, waterproof, damp‑proof and restore concrete surfaces, and repair or replace damaged sections.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 2 to less than 3 years of concrete finishing experience.
• Physically demanding work: heavy lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling and standing for long periods.
• Team player with dependability and attention to detail.
• Clear criminal record and valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Concrete placement and finishing.
• Operation of power vibrators.
• Use of hand and power tools for surface finishing.
• Application of sealers, hardeners and waterproofing compounds.
