Settlements Co‑op/Internship – Winter 2027

About the role

Use your project management and business analytics skills in a fast‑growing company where you can have an impact. The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is seeking a Settlements Co‑op Student/Intern for the Winter term (January to April) to work with our Settlements team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, review, reconcile and analyse a high volume of financial transactions to ensure accurate trade settlement across all asset classes.
• Assist the Associate, Settlements with various projects and initiatives.
• Identify and resolve inefficiencies in current Settlements processes.
• Develop knowledge of internal systems and facilitate departmental initiatives.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Investment Operations and other operational personnel.

Required profile

• Fundamental knowledge of finance, business and investment‑related disciplines.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.
• Professionalism, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in an inter‑dependent team.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks and pay strong attention to detail.
• Interest in operational investment management, high ethical standards and eagerness to learn.
• Previous work/intern/co‑op experience or exposure to capital markets is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
• Power BI, including advanced formulas and macros.
• Bloomberg experience (asset).
