About the role

The Department of English & Drama at the University of Toronto Mississauga seeks a sessional lecturer to teach ENG110H5F Narrative. This course introduces students to a wide range of narrative forms, from classic literary texts to contemporary non‑literary storytelling.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lectures for a 12‑week semester, meeting scheduled class times on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Develop, administer, and grade assignments, tests, and exams.
• Calculate final grades and submit them in accordance with university policies.
• Hold regular office hours to support student learning.
• Supervise any teaching assistants assigned to the course.

Required profile

• PhD in English or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching narrative and literary forms at the university level.
• Strong academic record with significant publications.
• Evidence of up‑to‑date knowledge in narrative studies.

Required skills

• Curriculum design for undergraduate literature courses.
