Sessional Lecturer – Issues in Metaethics (Fall 2026)

About the role

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Mississauga seeks a sessional lecturer to teach the Fall 2026 course "Issues in Metaethics". This part‑time, in‑person position involves delivering two weekly class sessions and guiding students through core metaethical concepts.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver course content for Monday (1‑3 pm) and Wednesday (2‑3 pm) classes.
• Prepare lecture materials, reading lists, and assessment tools.
• Assess student work, provide feedback, and maintain academic standards.
• Engage with students during office hours and support their learning.

Required profile

• PhD in philosophy (or in‑hand) with a focus on metaethics.
• Prior experience teaching philosophy at the university level, preferably at the University of Toronto.
• Demonstrated knowledge of moral philosophy, ethical theory, and related research.
• Record of scholarly achievement is an asset.
