Sessional Lecturer – Introduction to Business (MGTA01H3)

About the role

The University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking up to two qualified sessional lecturers to teach MGTA01H3 Introduction to Business. This undergraduate course introduces students to the planning, organization, and creation of businesses within the Canadian economy.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and deliver lecture content for two weekly sections (Mon 10:00‑12:00 and Wed 09:00‑11:00).
• Develop, administer, and grade assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
• Calculate and submit final grades, maintain accurate records, and hold regular office hours.
• Supervise teaching assistants and provide timely feedback to students.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in business, management, or a related field (MSc, MBA, or higher).
• Several years of experience teaching comparable undergraduate courses.
• Preferred: PhD in a related discipline, prior teaching experience at UTSC, and consistently strong teaching evaluations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and the Canadian economic context.
• Effective oral and written communication for delivering course material.
• Ability to assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
