Sessional Lecturer – Fundamentals of Site Remediation

About the role

The University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking a qualified Sessional Lecturer to teach the course “Fundamentals of Site Remediation” (EESD15H3) during the Fall 2026 term. The position involves delivering weekly lectures, preparing course materials, and assessing student performance for an enrolment of approximately 40 undergraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver three‑hour lectures each Friday from September 1 to December 31, 2026.
• Design assignments, term tests, and a final examination aligned with course objectives.
• Mark student work and record grades in the Quercus learning management system.
• Maintain up‑to‑date course documentation and respond to student inquiries.

Required profile

• PhD in Environmental Science or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of hazardous material remediation, including bioremediation, groundwater, soil, marine, and sediment contexts.
• Prior experience teaching EESD15 or similar environmental engineering courses is an asset.

Required skills

• Ability to develop and present academic lecture material.
• Proficiency with the Quercus LMS for grade management.
